The Harris County Homeland Security Emergency Management (HCHSEM) needs
additional ham radio operators to serve at the Transtar facility. This is
similar to the need at the Pasadena EOC. The Transtar facility has an
excellent ham radio room so you do not have to bring your own equipment.
Applicants will need to fill out application forms, and submit to background
checks. This is again another great opportunity to use your ham radio
skills to help provide emergency communications.

The Transtar facility is located off of I-10 near the Washington street
exit. This is on the near northwest side of the city.

If you are interested in applying for one of these positions then let me
know and I will get you started.

As with all of these emergency operation positions it is important that you
complete the Emergency Communications courses offered by the ARRL and also
the FEMA ICS courses 100, 200, 700, 800. These courses form the basis of
almost everything in emergency communications.
