Good Morning to All,

 

I have been in contact with Ken Mitchell, KD2KW, by phone today and we have
come to the mutual understanding that it is time for Jeff Walter, KE5FGA,
to assume the position of DEC for District 14.  Actually, Ken and I had
agreed to make the change due September 1st, but with the storms, all was
placed on hold and this was my decision.  This appointment will happen today
at ARRL with appropriate Documents to follow.  Emails will be sent to
appropriate parties involved.

 

I want to take the opportunity to thank Ken Mitchell for years of service to
the Greater Houston Area, District 14, and with the help of all his folks
there, have built an ARES operation that he can be very proud of and many
yearn to have.   So Ken, thank you for your service, and thank you to all
the personnel, over the years that have made your success possible.  

 

Now Jeff Walters, as of today, is the new DEC.  I know that you will support
him in all respects, especially, now that a new threat, IKE, is on the
horizon.  Thanks Jeff, and welcome aboard.
